Our contemporary world is full of screens, blue lights, contrasts and fast stimuli from television and smartphones. In this context, new generations are born and raised, inevitably exposed to the digital world. More than 22%* of children spend a significant part of their time in front of screens such as televisions, computers, tablets or mobile phones. This increasing behaviour has led the World Health Organisation (WHO), as early as 2019, to establish some guidelines on the subject.
The WHO recommendations underline the importance of completely avoiding exposure to and use of digital devices in children under 2 years of age, highlighting the negative effects of the “repair mobile” to keep the little ones calm in public places. In addition, for children between 2 and 5 years of age, the use of smartphones and tablets should be limited to less than 1 hour a day, and for those between 5 and 8 years of age, to less than 2 hours a day. The risks of being in front of a screen at an early age include encouraging sedentary behaviour, compromising psychological well-being, interfering with family interactions and affecting cognitive, linguistic and emotional development. This reinforces the need to offer screen-free alternatives.
More than just listening
FABA+ is the perfect ally for today’s parents who want to offer their children safe, engaging, screen-free play. This new device takes a simpler approach to stories and Sound Character content. FABA+ is compatible with all products in the Faba catalogue, and it is enough to bring any Sound Character or book close to the red circle to start listening. And best of all… with FABA+ there is no need to leave the character on the Storyteller! This allows children to play with the figure while listening or follow the audio in the book while it is being narrated. A real “WOW!”
A unique storyteller that offers much more than just listening, with numerous new functions to discover. Starting with the ease of setup: FABA+ allows, thanks to the Wi-Fi connection (which can be turned on and off), a more immediate use, without the need for cables or computers. With the MyFaba app, you can quickly synchronise all the Sound Characters using the QR code on the base.
The fun and friendly “face” of FABA+ has several buttons, all to be explored, to quickly access its functions. Among them, the new pink button stands out, dedicated to the bedtime routine. With this command, you can listen to a selection of instrumental pieces created by Faba, where the sounds of nature are mixed with relaxing music that accompanies children to the world of dreams.
To further promote the rest of the little ones, FABA+ incorporates a night light. This device lights up softly in the dark, providing tranquility during the bedtime routine or creating fun shadow games before bedtime. In addition, this new feature is very practical for mums, dads and adults, as it allows you to easily locate the device when the lights in the room are off. Through the MyFaba app, you can choose both the colour and the intensity of the light, achieving truly PLUS personalisation.
And FABA+ comes with a really special Sound Character: Faba•Me, a small robot that allows you to record stories or songs with your own voice, lasting up to 60 minutes, to listen to them through the Sound Character. In addition, within the MyFaba app, each user will find numerous free digital audio content, such as stories, rhymes, songs, even in English, to create their own playlist and listen to it with Faba•Me. Thus, each Faba•Me is unique and completely customizable.

FABA Srl is an Italian startup based in Treviso, dedicated to the development of products designed for the entertainment and educational play of children, stimulating their imagination. Research conducted by the Department of Life Sciences at the University of Trieste has certified that listening to FABA contributes to language development and vocabulary enrichment in preschool children.
