The leading children’s products trade fair has got off to a strong start on its first day, with over 20,000 m2 of exhibiting space for children’s products, and more than 400 brands from 20 countries showcasing their new collections to foreign trade visitors from over 40 countries.
The Valencian Regional Minister for Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Employment, Rafael Climent, officially opened BKS + FIMI. “We are once again supporting an international buyers’ plan for this event with IVACE through an inverse trade mission of 120 buyers who are included in the group of over 250 international buyers from the five continents”, he declared.
BKS + FIMI’s children’s and young people’s fashion show received warm applause, alongside the premiere of the childcare show. The event also has a new area for innovative and sustainable childcare products.
Valencia, 26th January 2023.- BabyKid Spain + FIMI’s international profile is growing fast, with the event consolidating its position as a reference trade fair in the children’s products industry. This was clear on the first day of the leading trade fair for children’s fashion, footwear, childcare and toys, which was attended by hundreds of international visitors from over 40 countries.
Buyers from Italy, the United States, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Portugal, Ecuador, Israel, Japan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the Dominican Republic, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Croatia, among others, visited the halls of BKS + FIMI today in search of the latest trends and innovations and the most sustainable products for the world of children.
Some of the latest trends showcased by the over 400 exhibiting firms from 20 countries included the latest colourful collections by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada; a handle-free chest of drawers to ensure child safety by Nu Furniture; a self-balancing cot by Micuna and a pushchair with an air-purifying cover by Thule.
“Trends, innovation, but also sustainability. This is one of the aspects that professionals in the sector are looking out for today”, said Alicia Gimeno, the event’s Director. “Play Up is an example of this type of firm, with an entire collection made out of recycled yarn from surplus raw materials, as is Rapife with a new collection, made with natural dyes and a sustainable production chain as well as being totally ‘Made in Spain'”, she explained.
Micuna, Jane, Be Cool, Cybex, Chicco, Foppapedretti, Inglesina, Top Toys, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada Baby, Foque, Sardón, Tartaleta, Babybol, Babidu, Rapife, Pan con Chocolate, Tutto Piccolo, PAZ Rodríguez, Pisamonas, Ria Menorca and Biomecanics are some of the brands that have presented their new products at BKS + FIMI, a fair co-organised by Feria Valencia and Asepri (Spanish Children’s Products Association).
“We are once again supporting an international buyers’ plan for this event with IVACE through an inverse trade mission of 120 buyers who are included in the group of over 250 international buyers from the five continents. They are all visiting the fair in a joint initiative organised by IVACE, Icex Spain Export and Investment, Asepri and Feria Valencia”, said the Regional Minister for Sustainable Economy, Rafael Climent, during the opening ceremony of BabyKid Spain + FIMI. Climent said he was very satisfied “to see the positive results of this year’s show”, which has been “a great success in terms of the participation of both Spanish and international firms”.
An inclusive catwalk with an Andalusian feel
One of the most eagerly awaited events at BKS + FIMI was the FIMI KIDS FASHION WEEK fashion show, a benchmark catwalk experience, which is central to trade buyers’ purchasing decisions. A total of seven brands showcased the season’s latest trends.
Martín Aranda, Mimosines, Ecocó Baby & Kids, LaOrmiga and Asalvo were the brands that participated in the Andalusian Children’s Fashion and Childcare Show, with the support of Extenda. Javilar, Airen and Pan con Chocolate also showcased their latest designs on a catwalk that was warmly applauded by the audience.
Craftsmanship, innovation, tradition and sustainability were combined with outstanding fabrics, patterns, details and design. The fashion show also featured a girl with functional diversity, who modelled for the firm Martín Aranda.
In addition, for the first time, BKS + FIMI held the BKS CHILDCARE WEEK childcare fashion show, where Asalvo, Cambrass and Kikkaboo showcased their latest innovations.
